This print was inspired during lockdown. Everyone stopped to hear the woodpecker high up in the trees and in the breeze the tall trunks of the trees were rubbing together causing a strange sound in the silence. Estranged families stood on the path in a social distanced stream, but we all chatted happily in this new way of being.

This hand carved lino print is a 4 colour speed-ball ink print on smooth, off white Japanese vellum paper, 225gsm. Each print has been individually printed, so each one is slightly different and signed by me. I've printed it onto A3 paper, so you can simply slot it into an A3 frame. This is my second lino print and I have found it so exciting as the process is magical. I am literally using a wooden spoon to transfer the image from the lino onto the paper. I am learning and have learnt so much. The wooden spoon is exceptionally shiny now as it feels like a session at the gym after finishing each print. I will be buying a press later this year which will make the printing much easier!
This print is inspired by one of my heroes, Sir David Attenborough, especially this quote:
