Hi, I'm Angie and I'm drawn to painting as a way of telling stories, emotional stories that speak of our connection to the natural world.
Again and again I find myself returning to trees and seas, not simply as subjects but as souls of expression and carriers of memory.
I want to explore the cyclical nature of life and how nature is built on spheres, circles, spirals and cycles.
Trees in particular are significant to me. In earlier times, they were seen as sacred and a portal between worlds, as well as sources of
wisdom and shelter. People listened to them and had an understanding that they were part of something much bigger. Through my work
I try to explore our connection, and how we are shaped by nature and are held within it.
My hope is that these paintings offer a space to pause, to reflect and feel a sense of belonging to the wider, living world.
After studying BA hons degree Illustration at Norwich School of Art, I worked for international publishers.
Concept Illustrator for TV companies and later worked as background painter on films and children's TV series. I now paint full time and live in Warwickshire, UK.
