Riding the Storm

Riding the Storm was inspired by a time of loss, following the passing of my father. Standing by the sea in Dorset a few days later, I was struck by the power and darkness of the storm - but also by a quiet sense of something beyond it. A presence within the chaos.

This painting reflects that moment. A lone figure sits in a small boat, surrounded by restless waters, while a beam of light breaks through the sky above. It does not calm the storm, but it offers something steadier, a reminder that even in our most difficult moments, we are not alone. This piece speaks to resilience, to grief, and to the unseen forces that carry us through.
